Nostos – homecoming to true flavours!

The Arch of Galerius (Kamara) and the nearby Rotunda are two of the city’s must-see monuments. But, if you continue your walk just two minutes away from those two historic landmarks, you will find a great place for must-eat Greek delicacies and traditional dishes. The nearby Nostos offers both Mediterranean cuisine and traditional Greek dishes, combining modern gastronomic twists with recipes that date back in time. Delicious slow-cooked stews and casseroles that are prepared daily are served along grilled-upon-order fresh meat, fish and seafood.

At Nostos you can enjoy a glass of ouzo with some authentic meze and great seafood dishes in a really welcoming environment, with plenty of outdoor seating, surrounded by flowers and plants that create a small oasis of green in the heart of the city. The menu offers a great variety of starters, plenty of hearty salads and vegetarian options. Try the smooth fava spread with caramelised onions, the amazing grilled octopus, the tender chicken filet in vine leaves, zucchini fritters and several other grilled meats and don’t forget to ask about the day’s specials and the fresh fish and seafood options that depend on the day’s catch.
Every Friday and Saturday night Nostos hosts live unplugged music sessions, but since many musicians are regulars there, don’t be surprised if someone seating next to you grabs a guitar and starts singing on a week-night. Just join them!

[+] In Homer’s “Odyssey” the word nostos signifies the return home. In Nostos it signifies the homecoming to true flavours!
