With a selection of works from the Costaki collection of Jelena Guro, Natalia Goncharova, Olga Rozanova, Lioumpov Popova , Alexandra Exter, Nantieznta Ountaltsova , Varvara Stepanova , Vera Pestel , Antonina Sofronova Valentina Koulagkina , Yevgeny Magkaril , Barbara Boumpnova , Ksenia and Maria Eder … women creators in the years of the Russian avant-garde (1910-1930) are the protagonists in the new exhibition of the State Museum of Contemporary Art in Moni Lazaristes.

Women artists in the years of the Russian avant-garde was so those men and colleagues , which is not observed respectively in European avant-garde . Olga Rozanova pioneered the use of collage and was one of the first artists who applied and dealt with very specific techniques to non – objective painting . The Lioumpov Popova together with her ​​friends Nantieznta Ountaltsova and Vera Pestel developed the ” kyvofoutourismo ” connecting the two European movements ( cubism and futurism ) to one which acquired its own inherent characteristics . The Popova went through all the movements of the avant garde . He left us excellent examples of graphic design and design sets and costumes . He died prematurely in 1924 , on the boom of the constructivist movement was very active member in the last years of her life. Barbara Boumpova settled in 1921 in Japan, where he taught for 36 years at the University of Tokyo and applied innovative techniques lithographic reproductions.

The Yevgeny Magkaril and Antonina Sofronova developed a personal visual language through assimilation Suprematists and constructivist techniques. Varvara Stepanova and Valentina Koulagkina worked alongside their husbands Aleksandr Rodchenko and Gustav Klucis the creation of collage , photomontage and lithographic reproductions significantly evolving the art of graphic design .
